The centerpiece of the 270 acre park project is the 2,500 seat amphitheater and stage. The fabric canopy slopes dramatically up from the stage, creating a stunning visual and acoustic experience. The massive steel structure is now available for community events as well as professional performing acts.
A core plaza features picnic pavilions with outdoor fireplaces, restrooms, splash pad, and a playground area for children. Utilizing generous amounts of stone, veneer, and wood finishes, the park structures attempt to draw park goers even more into their natural surroundings. A 2,850 square foot Millhouse is now available for use as meeting space, a wedding venue, or a variety of other uses.
Two ponds were constructed adjacent to the Millhouse. Fed by a recirculating creek, the new features were constructed to appear as natural elements.
For years, the park was agricultural property virtually untouched by human hands. In transforming the area into a municipal park, large boulders were shipped in from Wyoming to be used as integral park elements. Some of the boulders, as large as a bus and weighing 16-tons, are strategically located to complement other park features.
