This project is an addition of a new fire suppression system throughout the Asbury Elementary School. Asbury was constructed in 1925 with additions in 1927 and 1947 and the only fire suppression that was added previously was in the basement cafeteria.
This project incorporates tying into the existing fire line water supply to the building and adding a fire suppression system throughout the school. The need for gypsum board soffits is required in the hallways and corridors to hide the new piping. Also, painting of the exposed fire suppression piping, soffits and adjacent walls is required by DPS Specifications.
